Preparation
- Clean the house and decorate it with flowers, rangoli, and diyas (oil lamps).
- Set up the Puja Altar. Create a sacred space for the Puja by placing a clean cloth on a raised platform or table. Place idols or images of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesh, and other deities if desired.
- Light the diyas and keep them burning throughout the Puja.

Offerings
Offer flowers, incense, fruits, sweets, and other traditional items to the deities.
- Recite mantras and prayers dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, such as the Lakshmi Ashtothram or other sacred chants.
- Perform the Arti by circling a lit diya in front of the deities. Sing traditional Arti songs and offer reverence to the deities.
- Distribute prasad (sacred food) to the family members and guests present during the Puja.

Close the Puja by seeking blessings from Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity, wealth, and well-being
Celebrate
After the Puja, celebrate Diwali by exchanging gifts, enjoying festive meals, and lighting firecrackers if desired.
